For more than 45 years, I have represented businesses, professionals, and individuals in complex litigation and dispute resolution matters in courts throughout Texas and nationwide. Over the course of my career, I have handled a wide range of commercial and business disputes, including employment litigation, oil & gas litigation and matters, receivership cases, real estate litigation, and banking litigation to name just a few. I believe that my vast experience and success bring a practical and disciplined approach to every case, whether in the courtroom, arbitration, or mediation. I believe that as an advocate, my purpose is to facilitate resolution of the dispute, be it by negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.

My legal career has given me the opportunity to appear before numerous state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the United States Court of Federal Claims, and the United States District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of Texas. I have also been admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Military Appeals since 1981. Throughout my years in practice, I have learned that successful advocacy requires not only legal knowledge but also sound judgment, credibility, and the ability to remain focused on the client's broader objectives.

I have been fortunate to receive recognition from professional organizations and legal publications throughout my career. Since 2012, I have held the AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognizing the highest standards of professional excellence and ethics. In 2017, Corporate Vision Magazine named me Texas Attorney of the Year, and from 2013 through 2016, Texas Lawyer recognized me as Top Lawyer of the Year. I was also honored as Professional of the Year in Business Litigation by America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals and recognized in Who’s Who in American Law and Strathmore's Who's Who.

Before entering private practice, I served in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, in the United States Army, primarily as a trial counsel, an experience that shaped both my professional values and my approach to leadership and responsibility. During my service, I received the Meritorious Service Medal from the United States Department of Defense in 1986, the U.S. Army Commendation Medal in 1984, and the Honorable Order of St. Barbara from the United States Army Field Artillery Center and Fort Sill.

Even after decades in practice, I continue to enjoy the challenge of helping clients solve difficult problems, navigate high-pressure disputes, and position themselves for successful outcomes both inside and outside the courtroom.
