I graduated from the University of Houston Law Center and joined Shellist Lazarz Slobin in July 2018. My practice predominantly focuses on representing individuals who have experienced workplace discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination or retaliation in violation of federal and state laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Chapter 21 of the Texas Labor Code, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. I am humbled by the opportunity to advocate for my clients faced with stressful circumstances involving their livelihoods and the way in which they provide for their families. I will patiently explain your rights, listen to your concerns, and vigorously represent you in the administrative process, settlement negotiations, and in court. I also assist employers in implementing effective anti-discrimination and harassment practices and policies that promote a healthy and productive work environment. I take pride in working alongside employers that wish to do right by their employees.
Prior to joining the firm, I gained significant experience practicing general litigation, including best practices for discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation. During law school, I was an active member of Moot Court, a contributing editor to the Journal for Consumer and Commercial Law, and served as community service chair of the Black Law Students Association where I mentored high school students and volunteered at numerous community events. I also interned with the Honorable Frances H. Stacy, the Office of the Texas Attorney General, and the University of Houston’s Office of the General Counsel. I am licensed to practice in the State of Texas and the United States Southern District of Texas.
I am an active member of the Houston Bar Association and the National Employment Lawyers Association. If you have been wronged by your employer or would like to ensure that your business is in compliance with state and federal workplace laws, please feel free to contact us today.
